Sustainability at ARI®
Efficient resource handling is standard practice at ARI-Armaturen. We invest in a climate-friendly, low-emission and therefore efficient design of our products as well as our production and business processes.
As a family-run business with deep roots in a rural landscape, our focus has been on conserving resources ever since the company’s foundation. For instance, we generate a significant proportion of the electricity we use ourselves using photovoltaic systems on our production buildings and pump our own water on site.
Some of the ways we promote sustainability
- Systematic reduction in our consumption of resources thanks to the environment and energy management system that has been in place at all our German sites since 2014 and is certified according to ISO 14001 and 50001
- Use of more than 2,000,000 kWh of our own electricity annually from six large photovoltaic systems installed on the roofs of our production buildings
- Exclusive purchase of climate-neutral electricity generated in Germany from wind and water power
- Ongoing energy-focused renovation and new construction of company buildings, which means that now 85 % of our permanent staff work in buildings that meet the latest energy standards
- Use of waste heat – e. g. recovered from our compressors – for our coating plants (waste-energy usage)
- Operation of a combined heat and power plant that runs at approx. 90 % efficiency
- Machines, lights and ventilation systems are automatically switched off when not in use
- Reduced paper consumption due to largely paperless processes
- For our customers: Free recycling of virtually all of our product components at the end of their life cycle
- Continuous and systematic waste reduction
- Regular information and training of our employees on the topics of sustainability, the environment and energy
